SASSCAL participated at the popular Windhoek Livestock and Agriculture Show better known as the Windhoek Show from 28 September to 1 October 2022 in Windhoek, Namibia. The Show provided  SASSCAL with a good platform to promote its brand and showcase all its products and services including research, capacity development programmes, Green hydrogen Project and WeMast Project. The staff manning the SASSCAL booth gave general information about the organisation as well as responded to any other requests for information from the public.  The platform was also used for  interaction with high-level authorities, research institutions, students, farmers, academia and general interest groups.

Specific online products and services provided at the exhibition included Namibia Rainfall trends and spatial distribution, land surface temperature of southern Africa, 2020/21  Rainfall season of  Africa, and wildfires of Namibia. SASSCAL strengthens the regional capacity to generate and make use of scientific knowledge, products and services for decision-making on climate change and adaptive land management.

SASSCAL Communications and Marketing Officer Ms. Ester Nakanduungile described the event as a success.”The aim of attending the exhibition is to complement and reach some of those stakeholders who do not get the opportunity to attend our numerous strategic stakeholder meetings, workshops, and conferences usually held during the course of the year,” she said.
