The SASSCAL Executive Director, Dr Jane Olwoch, unveiled the SASSCAL video during the recent SASSCAL Ministerial Meeting. The meeting was attended by Ministers and ministerial representatives from all member states. It was officially opened by His Excellency, Vice President / Acting President of the Republic of Namibia Dr Nangolo Mbumba. The Ministerial meeting was being held for the first time since the signing of the Joint declaration to implement SASSCAL by respective Ministers in 2012.
The video chronicles and documents SASSCAL’s impact in the region. The unveiling of the video was in line with an objective of the meeting; “to report back to the Ministers on SASSCAL achievements for the last 5 years”. The Ministerial meeting presented an ideal platform for the unveiling of the video as the council of Ministers were convened for the first time since the signing of the Joint declaration to implement SASSCAL by respective Ministers in 2012.
