Ms Chipo Chirefu-Toto has been appointed as the new Director of Administration and Finance at the Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management (SASSCAL ) effective 3rd of January 2018. Prior to this appointment, she was a Senior Finance and Operations Manager for Management Sciences for Health (MSH) an international non-governmental organization funded mainly by USAID supporting health systems strengthening in Namibia. She has brought at SASSCAL the required expertise in financial management, accounting and administration and not to mention a 17 years work experience in the donor funded and development sector. She has worked in various positions managing finances, human resources, operations, procurement and general operations. She also specialises in providing financial management training, monitoring of resource utilization and managing their grants. Ms Chipo Chirefu-Toto also has experience in project formulation activities, drafting of project documents and contracts, evaluation of proposals and contract, concluding contracts, evaluation as well as administrative and logistical support to the whole team.
She holds an Honour’s Degree in Business Management from the University of South Africa (UNISA), a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Financial Management (UNISA), a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK (CIMA) Diploma and a Diploma in Accountancy from Polytechnic of Harare.
Ms Chipo Chirefu-Toto is currently studying towards a Master of Philosophy in Development Finance with the University of Stellenbosch and also studying CIMA’s Advanced Diploma course in Operations and Performance.
